World coffee production in the crop year 2016/2017 reached 157,766 million bags, equivalent to 9.23 million tons, an increase of 4.09% compared to the crop year 2015/2016. World coffee production in recent years has maintained at a low growth rate because coffee production is still concentrated mainly in countries with tropical and tropical monsoon climate. The coffee area as well as the productivity of coffee plants in these countries have reached the maximum level, making the coffee production not grow much. The production of coffee in the crop year 2018/2019 is estimated at 169 million bags, an increase of 5.4% compared to the previous crop. This is the strongest growth rate in the recent 7 seasons (from 2012/2013 crop year), due to the expected production recovery in major producing countries when the weather conditions are favorable.
