Cerium-doped lanthanum Bromide LaBr3(Ce) crystals is one of the new scintillating detectors that has been developed in recent years which has proven to be superior to other scintillating materials in terms of resolution and efficiency.

When the mud contains barite, the measured formation density and photoelectric absorption cross-section index Pe are inaccurate, which brings difficulties to the identification and evaluation of gas layers, especially dense gas layers. The lanthanum bromide crystal detector developed in recent years has more advantages: high density, large average atomic number, high detection efficiency; high spatial resolution and good energy resolution.

The scintillation performance of lanthanum bromide crystal is better than that of traditional sodium iodide crystal in all aspects. It is the most outstanding representative of the new generation of y-ray detection materials and can be applied to environmental monitoring, industrial measurement and control, oil logging, nuclear medical imaging, nuclear counterterrorism, nuclear physics and high-energy physics experiments. Due to its outstanding performance, it has attracted great attention in related fields as soon as it was discovered, and many international scientific research institutions have carried out a lot of research work.
