Environmentally friendly gold beneficiation agents are green chemical agents that replace highly toxic cyanide. They are used to efficiently and safely extract gold from ores or electronic waste. This is mainly achieved through various cyanide-free or low-cyanide formulations. They have advantages such as low toxicity, environmental friendliness, high efficiency (rapid leaching), simple operation (no complex approvals/special protection required), and strong adaptability (able to handle difficult-to-leach ores). They are widely used in gold mining and precious metal recovery, achieving a win-win situation for both economic and environmental benefits. Mainstream 'environmentally friendly, low-toxicity cyanide-based' products use bulk chemicals such as urea, cyanuric acid, soda ash, ferrous sulfate, and ammonium sulfate as raw materials. These are synthesized into polycyanamide sodium through melting at 250–400 °C. The raw material cost is approximately RMB 3,000–4,000 per ton. The total factory cost after processing, granulation, and packaging is RMB 4,500–5,500 per ton, with a gross profit margin of 25–35%. This is significantly lower than the final price of sodium cyanide, but eliminates the hidden costs of RMB 1,000–1,500 per ton for highly toxic substances, including security, emergency response, and detoxification. Overall, the ore beneficiation cost is the same or slightly lower.
