Essentially, based on the traditional chemical spraying/developing/etching/removal (DES) process, it introduces fluid control designs such as vacuum suction, liquid suction beams, or forced liquid drainage to reduce liquid film retention and accumulation effects. This improves the uniformity of copper surface etching, the ability to control line width/spacing, the ability to control side etching, and batch consistency, meeting the requirements of advanced packaging and substrate processes such as SAP and mSAP for ultra-fine lines, high yield, and high-stability mass production.

The rapid development of downstream industries such as AI servers, GPUs, HBM, Chiplet, 2.5D/3D packaging, FC-BGA, FC-CSP, SiP modules, high-speed communication chips, and automotive electronics has led to increasingly stringent requirements for circuit refinement, interlayer interconnect density, impedance consistency, and yield stability in IC substrates, substrate-like boards, arbitrary-layer HDI, and high-order HDI. Traditional wet etching equipment is susceptible to problems such as solution retention, uneven liquid film thickness, spray dead zones, localized liquid accumulation on the copper surface, and differences in side etching when processing ultra-fine linewidths/spacings. This results in linewidth deviations, uneven etching, open/short circuit risks, and insufficient batch stability. In contrast, wet vacuum etching machines with vacuum suction, suction beams, forced drainage, and precise fluid control capabilities can better improve the efficiency of solution exchange and etching uniformity on the board surface. Therefore, they have become crucial equipment for high-end substrate manufacturers to improve yield and extend process windows.

Advanced circuitry technologies such as SAP and mSAP are expanding from high-end IC substrates to high-end HDI, Mini LED backplanes, automotive electronics boards, and high-frequency, high-speed boards.
