Low-voltage stacked batteries are based on lithium-ion stacked batteries, achieving low-voltage output (typically 3.2?3.7V for individual cells and <100V for module voltage) through stacking processes or modular design. They are widely used in portable devices and small energy storage systems. The characteristics of low-voltage stacked batteries include: lower voltage, moderate power, and high safety; high volume utilization, suitable for thin and light designs; the stacked structure facilitates modular assembly; lower cost than high-voltage batteries; and a more mature manufacturing process.

Positive electrode materials (such as NCM, LFP) and negative electrode materials (graphite, silicon-carbon) are stacked alternately with a separator to form a cell. The battery achieves module output through low-voltage series and parallel connections. Lithium ions migrate between the positive and negative electrodes, and electrons complete the energy output through external circuitry. The low-voltage design is suitable for small-capacity, high-frequency charge and discharge scenarios, with low temperature rise and safety risks.

In 2025, global sales of low-voltage stacked batteries reached 180GWh, with a production capacity of approximately 270GWh, an average selling price of $98/kWh, and an average gross margin of 20%-30%.

The upstream mainly includes suppliers of basic chemical raw materials and electronic auxiliary materials such as electrode materials (e.g., positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials), separators, electrolytes, current collectors, and binders, providing core chemical and structural materials for low-voltage stacked batteries; the midstream consists of low-voltage stacked battery manufacturers, who process raw materials into standardized or customized low-voltage stacked battery modules through electrode sheet preparation, stacking/winding, electrolyte injection, packaging, and group management, while integrating BMS (Battery Management System) to achieve safety, performance optimization, and battery monitoring; the downstream covers manufacturers of new energy vehicles, power tools, UPS, energy storage systems, communication base stations, and other industrial electronic equipment.

Low-voltage stacked batteries are primarily used in consumer electronics, small-scale energy storage, and light electric vehicles.
