MET exon 14 skipping (METex14 skipping) is a genetic alteration primarily found in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other malignancies. This mutation leads to the skipping of exon 14 in the MET gene, preventing proper degradation of the MET receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK). As a result, the MET signaling pathway remains continuously activated, promoting tumor cell growth and metastasis.
