Key specifications include dielectric strength, volume resistivity, dielectric constant, gel hardness, viscosity, curing time, operating temperature range, ionic impurity level, volatile content, partial discharge resistance, adhesion stability, and thermal aging performance. The main function of the material is to fill the internal cavities of power modules and protect chips, wire bonds, ceramic substrates, terminals, and interconnect structures from electrical stress, moisture, contamination, vibration, and thermo mechanical cycling. Compared with general electronic potting gels, SiC power module gels require stronger dielectric stability, higher heat resistance, lower contamination risk, and better long term reliability under high voltage and high frequency switching conditions.
