Pseudocapacitors are energy storage devices that store charge through electrochemical Faradaic reactions, such as redox, intercalation, or adsorption reactions on the electrode surface, offering higher energy density than conventional electric double-layer capacitors while maintaining fast charge-discharge rates. The upstream mainly includes suppliers of active materials, such as transition metal oxides, conductive polymers, and carbon composites, as well as electrolytes, separators, and electrode substrates. Downstream applications are broad, focusing on energy storage for electric vehicles, renewable energy balancing, power tools, drones, and portable electronics, where high power density, rapid charge-discharge capability, and long cycle life are critical.
