It works by distributing signals from external cellular towers to the interior of a building without the need for active amplification of the signals.

In a passive system, the cellular signals are captured from the external environment, typically by an external antenna (or donor antenna), and then routed through coaxial cables to a network of indoor antennas. These indoor antennas rebroadcast the signal throughout the building, improving cellular connectivity in areas where the external signal may be weak or non-existent.
