Optical ammonia monitoring sensors are devices that detect ammonia concentration in the environment based on optical principles. The working principle of optical ammonia monitoring sensors is mainly based on the reaction of ammonia with specific chemical coatings or indicators, or based on the absorption characteristics of ammonia to light. When ammonia reacts with the chemical coating or indicator in the sensor, it causes changes in optical signals (such as color, fluorescence, absorption spectrum, etc.). The sensor indirectly measures the concentration of ammonia by detecting changes in these optical signals. Another mechanism is to use the absorption characteristics of ammonia to light of a specific wavelength to determine the concentration of ammonia by measuring the degree of light absorption.
