It combines the perception capabilities of visible and infrared light and is suitable for scenarios such as driver assistance, night vision systems, occupant monitoring, and gesture recognition. Such sensors usually meet automotive standards (such as AEC-Q100), have a wide temperature range, high durability, and anti-interference capabilities to ensure stable performance in complex in-vehicle environments.

RGB-IR Advantages: One sensor captures both spectra, saving cost and space (no additional camera or mechanically moving filters required).

RGB-IR Disadvantages: Lower resolution due to combining RGB and IR channel sampling into a single CFA pattern, and infrared contamination of the color channels in high infrared lighting conditions (sunlight, incandescent lamps), resulting in strange colors.
