The 100G SFP112 transceiver is a compact pluggable optical transceiver designed for high-speed Ethernet interconnects. Its core function is to deliver 100Gbps-class optical-electrical conversion within a single SFP112 form factor for short-, medium-, and long-reach links among switches, servers, routers, optical transport equipment, and test platforms. These products typically use single-lambda 100G PAM4 modulation, host-side FEC, CMIS management interfaces, and VCSEL, EML, PIN, APD, or silicon photonics integrated devices to support different reach and power configurations. The common delivery form is a hot-pluggable module, with typical interfaces including duplex LC and single-fiber BiDi. Key applications include data center switch interconnects, AI cluster high-speed interconnects, cloud network access, in-rack and inter-rack aggregation, 400G port breakout connections, carrier metro access, and laboratory validation.

The core value of 100G SFP112 transceivers lies in compressing 100G single-port capability into a smaller form factor, enabling equipment vendors to increase 100G port density within the same front-panel space. Compared with traditional QSFP28 modules, SFP112 is better suited to high-density switches, edge aggregation equipment, and next-generation 100G access port designs, particularly where network platforms need to preserve 100G ecosystem compatibility while reducing space and power pressure.

Industry growth is driven by two directions. On one side, AI clusters and cloud data centers continue to move toward higher network speeds, while 100G SFP112 can serve as a complementary link type for in-rack access, management networks, high-density leaf-spine switching, and 400G breakout connections.
