Molecular sieves, also known as zeolites or zeolites, have functions such as adsorption, ion exchange, and catalysis. Molecular sieve is a type of inorganic non-metallic porous crystal material with a large specific surface area, regular pore structure, and controllable functional units. It can effectively separate and select molecules with different activation diameters, polarities, boiling points, and saturation levels of organic hydrocarbons, and has the functions of 'screening molecules' and 'selective catalysis'. Molecular sieves have excellent adsorption, ion exchange, and catalytic properties and are widely used as adsorption materials, ion exchange materials, and catalytic materials. Among them, adsorption materials are mainly used for the separation, purification, and drying of various gases in the industrial and environmental fields; Ion exchange materials are mainly used in the treatment of washing aids, radioactive waste, and liquid waste; Catalytic materials are mainly used in a large number of industrial catalytic processes in the fields of petroleum refining and processing, petrochemicals, coal chemicals, and fine chemicals. A-type molecular sieves have a high affinity for water and are often used as highly effective adsorbents.

Type A Molecular Sieve is a type of aluminosilicate crystal material with a regular microporous structure, belonging to a type of synthetic zeolite. Its crystal structure contains uniformly sized channels, which can selectively adsorb and separate molecules of different sizes, hence it is called molecular sieve. A-type molecular sieves can be further divided into 3A/4A/5A type molecular sieves, with corresponding pore sizes of 0.3/0.4/0.5 nm. They can adsorb gas molecules with a diameter smaller than the pore size, and the larger the pore size, the greater the adsorption capacity. By changing the pore size through ion exchange, it is mainly used in industries such as gas and liquid drying, gas separation, petrochemical adsorption, refrigeration system dehydration, and phosphorus free detergent additives. It has the characteristics of large adsorption capacity, strong selectivity, good regeneration performance, and high chemical stability, and is one of the important industrial adsorption materials and functional materials. In 2025, global Type A Molecular Sieve production reached approximately 1,038.64 K MT, with an average global market price of around US$ 864 per MT.

With the continuous growth of demand in the petrochemical, natural gas processing, air separation, and detergent industries, the market for A-type molecular sieves continues to expand steadily. Among them, 4A molecular sieves are still the largest application area for detergents.
