Ti:Sapphire Laser Crystal, also known as titanium-doped sapphire laser crystal or Ti??:Al?O?, is a broadband solid-state laser gain material based on high-purity single-crystal aluminum oxide activated with trivalent titanium ions. It offers broad gain bandwidth, wide wavelength tunability, favorable thermal and mechanical properties, and strong suitability for femtosecond ultrashort-pulse generation. Commercial products mainly include crystal boules and blanks, rods, rectangular elements, flat-end crystals, Brewster-cut crystals, amplifier crystals, and finished components with precision-polished or anti-reflection-coated surfaces. These products are generally manufactured through melt-growth methods such as the Heat Exchanger Method, Czochralski growth and Temperature Gradient Technique. Major upstream inputs include high-purity alumina, titanium dioxide or other high-purity titanium sources, high-temperature crucible materials such as molybdenum or tungsten, high-purity inert and reducing gases, together with cutting, grinding, polishing and coating consumables. Principal downstream customers include manufacturers of femtosecond lasers, tunable lasers, regenerative amplifiers, multipass amplifiers and high-energy laser systems, as well as universities, research institutes, national laboratories, biomedical imaging equipment suppliers, ultrafast spectroscopy instrument manufacturers and precision processing equipment companies.
