The unique aspect of the upstream process lies in the precise control of sulfur content. Sulfur, acting as an activator, needs to be uniformly embedded into the nickel matrix during the gas-phase decomposition process. This requires much higher standards for equipment corrosion protection and process stability than ordinary refined nickel.
