N-Hexane for chromatography refers to an ultra-high purity, non-polar solvent specifically designed for chromatographic analysis (High Performance Liquid Chromatography, HPLC, Gas Chromatography, GC). It is not merely 'high-purity n-hexane,' but a specialized reagent with strict control over ultraviolet absorption impurities, unsaturated hydrocarbons, aromatics, and non-volatile residues.

The upstream of the industry chain mainly includes C6 fraction feedstocks obtained from crude oil refining and naphtha cracking, as well as basic chemical processes and equipment such as distillation columns, molecular sieves, and hydrogenation catalytic systems (including hydrorefining, fractionation purification, and adsorption dearomatization). It also relies on high-purity solvents to produce industrial-grade n-hexane and packaging materials. The midstream involves the refining and packaging of high-purity chromatographic-grade n-hexane. Through multi-stage distillation, deep desulfurization and dearomatization, trace moisture and metal ion control, and clean filling processes, industrial-grade n-hexane is upgraded into high-purity solvent products that meet the requirements of GC/GC-MS or HPLC analysis. This stage is mainly dominated by international scientific service companies such as Thermo Fisher, Merck, Honeywell, and Avantor, as well as some Japanese high-purity reagent manufacturers. The downstream is widely used in gas chromatography (GC/GC-MS) analysis systems, including environmental pollutant detection, food safety (pesticide residue/fatty acid analysis), pharmaceutical impurity analysis, petrochemical product component analysis, and trace organic matter detection in scientific research laboratories.
