It is primarily used in greases and oils to significantly improve load-bearing capacity, reduce mechanical wear, and exhibit excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability. It is often used to replace some or all of the molybdenum disulfide.

The upstream supply mainly relies on molybdenum-based minerals and basic organic chemical raw materials, including molybdenum oxide, sulfur dioxide, and di-n-butylamine. The purity of these raw materials and their synthesis processes directly affect the effective molybdenum content and oil solubility of T351.
