Electrolytic Iron is a high-purity metallic iron product produced through the electrolytic refining process, a wet metallurgy method that involves immersing crude iron (as the anode) and a pure iron base plate (as the cathode) in an electrolyte containing iron ions. Under the action of direct current, iron ions in the electrolyte migrate to the cathode, gain electrons and are reduced to metallic iron, which deposits on the cathode surface, while impurities in the crude iron are either dissolved without precipitation or settle as anode sludge. This process enables strict control of trace elements such as carbon, sulfur, and phosphorus, resulting in a product with a typical purity of over 99.9% and even reaching 99.99% (4N grade) or higher for high-end variants, distinguished by its low impurity content, uniform structure, and stable chemical properties.
