Semi-aromatic nylon is a high-performance specialty engineering plastic formed by the condensation polymerization of aliphatic diamines and aromatic diacids (or their derivatives). It combines the easy processability of aliphatic nylon (PA6/PA66) with the high heat resistance of aromatic compounds, possessing a high melting point, extremely low water absorption, high strength, and excellent electrical insulation. Because it maintains good dimensional stability and mechanical properties even at high temperatures, it is an ideal material to replace metals in electronic and electrical connectors and automotive parts.

Main Characteristics:

High Heat Resistance: Glass transition temperatures are generally greater than 100?, and melting points are mostly around 300?, capable of withstanding the high temperatures required for lead-free reflow soldering.

Low Water Absorption and Dimensional Stability: Compared to ordinary nylon, water absorption is significantly reduced, and even in humid environments, dimensional changes are very small, making it suitable for high-precision components.

Excellent Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to greases, coolants, salt water, etc.

The upstream sector mainly includes raw material suppliers, such as basic chemical raw materials like aromatic diacids, aliphatic diamines, and caprolactam, as well as some solvents and catalysts, providing the basic monomers and chemical conditions for the polymerization of semi-aromatic nylon. The midstream sector comprises semi-aromatic nylon polymerization and modification companies. These companies process raw materials into semi-aromatic nylon products of different grades and properties through polymerization, copolymerization, modification, or reinforcement treatments, including granules, fibers, or modified sheets. The downstream sector covers manufacturing companies in application fields such as automotive, electronics, industrial machinery, and fiber composites. They use semi-aromatic nylon to process high-temperature parts, wear-resistant gears, connector housings, high-performance fibers, and composite materials.
