The supply chain begins with upstream raw materials such as propylene (for epichlorohydrin production), formaldehyde, butyraldehyde, and other petrochemical intermediates used to manufacture trimethylolethane. Midstream manufacturers synthesize TMETGE through controlled etherification and purification processes to achieve specific epoxy equivalent weights and purity levels. Downstream users include epoxy resin formulators, coating manufacturers, adhesive producers, electrical and electronic material suppliers, composite material manufacturers, aerospace component producers, and industrial flooring companies, where TMETGE serves as a reactive diluent and crosslinking agent to enhance performance while reducing resin viscosity.
