Fortis Healthcare Limited (Fortis) is a leading healthcare company based in India and having chain hospitals. The company has hospitals in India as well as abroad. Fortis hospitals are internationally accepted and they met all the international standards. Currently, Fortis is having more than 50 network hospitals and a capacity of over 8,000beds. These hospitals contain multi-specialty hospitals as well as super specialty centers providing tertiary and quaternary healthcare to patients in all major medical specialties.
In the domestic market, Fortis is planning to expand its presence in Tier-II and III cities. For this the company will invest ` 10bn in the current year and it will be funded through internal accruals. It is planning to add about a dozen new hospitals in the domestic market in the current year and among them half-a-dozen will be through acquisition.
To expand its international presence, the company is looking for an international listing. Fortis is looking to expand its presence to atleast 6-8 countries. For this expansion of global presence, it will focus more on South East Asia.
