Genomic Health, Inc., a life science company, engages in the development and commercialization of genomic-based clinical diagnostic tests for cancer. The company offers Oncotype DX as a clinical service, where it analyzes the expression levels of 21 genes in tumor tissue samples in its laboratory and provides physicians with a quantitative gene expression profile expressed as a single quantitative score (Recurrence Score). The test also provides measurements of quantitative gene expression for estrogen receptor, or ER, progesterone receptor, or PR, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, or HER2, genes, which are used in the calculation of the Recurrence Score result, in order to provide additional clinical information.

In January 2010, the company launched its second product, the Oncotype DX colon cancer test, a multigene expression test developed to assess the risk of recurrence in patients with stage II disease.

Oncotype DX

Oncotype DX, the company's clinically validated product, uses its quantitative molecular pathology approach to improve cancer treatment decisions.
