Overview

An ultrasound system is a device that makes use of high-pitched sound waves to see through the internal structures of a human body. It finds applications in various fields and one of them is cardiology. An integration of ultrasound and Doppler imaging is used to analyze the anatomy of a heart and function in children. In this test, ultrasound waves are used to develop several images of the heart, which a pediatric cardiologist further studies to interpret the physiological condition of the heart. Ones who can undergo this test include newborns, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adolescents.
