Scanning systems typically include the scanner body (laser emitter/receiver, scanning mirror and rotation mechanism, IMU/tilt compensation, camera), control and storage, calibration and registration software, point cloud processing/modeling software, and supporting tripods, targets, etc. Applications cover construction engineering, infrastructure operation and maintenance (bridges/tunnels/roads/railways/airports), mine and stockpile volume measurement, energy and utilities (3D modeling and maintenance of power/oil/gas/chemical plants), cultural heritage digitization, and accident reconstruction. The upstream of the industry chain mainly consists of lasers and drivers, detectors/receiver modules, optical components (scanning mirrors, filters, lenses, windows), high-precision motors and angle encoders, IMUs and edge computing boards, machining and protective structural components; the midstream consists of OEMs; and the downstream includes surveying institutes and EPC contractors, mining and industrial enterprises, etc. Gross profit margins range from 30% to 55%.
