Swine Pseudorabies Vaccine is a veterinary biological product used to protect pigs against pseudorabies virus infection, mainly covering piglets, fattening pigs, replacement gilts, sows and boars. It helps reduce clinical disease, mortality, reproductive losses and virus shedding in swine herds. The product scope mainly includes live attenuated vaccines, inactivated vaccines, gene-deleted marker vaccines and combination vaccines containing pseudorabies virus antigens, with freeze-dried live vaccines and oil-emulsion inactivated vaccines as the main product forms. The most common and highest-volume strain platforms are Bartha-K61, HB98 and C strain. Upstream inputs mainly include production strains, cell substrates, culture media, adjuvants, stabilizers, freeze-drying protectants, inactivating agents, packaging materials and cold-chain packaging materials. Downstream customers mainly include large-scale swine farming groups, breeding farms, commercial pig farms, veterinary drug distributors and animal disease control bodies. On an ex-factory finished-vaccine basis, global designed capacity in 2025 is estimated at about 2.28 billion doses, actual sales volume at about 1.64 billion doses, and the average ex-factory ASP at around USD 0.10 per dose, with an industry gross margin of about 46%–61%. Differentiated products such as marker vaccines, variant-strain inactivated vaccines and combination vaccines generally carry higher prices and margins.

The current market for Swine Pseudorabies Vaccine is already a mature commercial segment within swine vaccines, with stable baseline immunization demand but clear regional differences. China and selected intensive swine-producing regions in Asia remain the most active demand centers, as large-scale farms continue to focus on reproductive stability, piglet survival, fattening herd health and farm-level purification programs. As producers raise their requirements for biosecurity, disease monitoring and production performance, the value of vaccine suppliers is no longer limited to the product itself. It also includes immunization program design, antibody monitoring support, purification-route advice and on-site technical services. Stricter regulation and higher quality requirements for veterinary biological products also favor suppliers with stronger technical capabilities and more complete quality systems. Key restraints include hog-cycle volatility, product homogenization, lower demand in some purified regions and the difficulty of proving clear product differentiation. When farm profitability is weak, small and medium-sized farms may reduce disease-prevention spending, affecting routine vaccine purchases.
