Vietnam Pharmaceutical industry uses about 60,000 tons of pharmaceutical materials, of which about 80-90% of used pharmaceutical materials are imported. In 2019, Vietnam imported US $ 389.68 million of pharmaceutical raw materials and components, down 4.3% from the same period in 2018. In Q1/2020 alone, Vietnam spent more than US $ 108 million on importing NPL pharmaceuticals. The country has 198 factories producing medicines that meet the GMP standards of the World Health Organization, 11 factories have invested and reached the standards of advanced countries such as the standards of Europe, America, Japan and PIC/S. . Domestic drugs fully meet 27 groups of pharmacological effects according to the World Health Organization classification. There are 652 drugs

The number of domestic drugs used is 22% at the central level, 50% at the provincial level and 75% at the national level. at the district level.

In general, pharmaceutical production in Q1/2020 prospered over the same period last year. In particular, the group with the strongest increase over the same period in 2019 is Pharmacy

Other un-classified products reach 4.7 million kg, up 81.17% over the same period in 2019.
