Komeri Co., Ltd. operates home improvement chain-stores in Japan. The company operated 655 stores, of which 524 are Hard & Greens stores and 131 Home centers as of March 31, 2004. Its main store format is specialty store called ‘Hard &Green’ (H&G). The H&G core categories of the stores are so-called ‘hard merchandise’ offer tools, hardware, and building materials. The company’s other H&G core categories called ‘green merchandise’ offer greenplants and gardening/farming materials.

The company’s original H&G format features gardening products and items, as well as hardware and tools for Do-It-Yourselfers.

The company’s new store format named ‘Komeri Power’ is developed in pursuit of the ideal of a big store for home improvement in Japan. Komeri power offers merchandise toward professionals, such as builders and farmers, attracting more Do-It-Yourselfers that have traditionally supported HC business in Japan.
