Alternatively, silicate sol-gels can be used for hydrolysis of elemental silicon to achieve more stringent ppb-level impurities and particle size consistency. Ultrafiltration or ceramic membrane cross-flow concentration replaces thermal concentration to suppress agglomeration and progressively remove large particles. Maintaining a stable metal ion background and pH/? potential throughout the process is crucial for clean filling. The market is driven by advanced process nodes. The zero tolerance for CMP flattening defects has continuously raised the bar, and the global effective supply has long been locked in the hands of a few Japanese and German players who can lock in the consistency of the refining chain and batches.
