Recycling of Lead-acid Battery refers to the process of dismantling, separating, and regenerating failed or discarded lead-acid batteries using physical, chemical, and metallurgical techniques. Almost all parts of a lead-acid battery are recyclable. The recycling process includes battery collection, transportation to recycling plants, disassembling battery components, and smelting and refining lead-containing parts. Plastic components can be cleaned, then crushed or melted for use in manufacturing new products. Sulfuric acid electrolyte can be purified or treated before disposal or recycling.
