A level shifter IC is an interface device that enables digital signals to interoperate across different voltage domains. In more specialized high-speed applications, level shifting is also optimized for specific links or protocols, for example translating low-voltage, AC-coupled HDMI or DVI signals into DC-coupled outputs compliant with the video interface standard.
