A cytogenetic array, also known as a chromosomal microarray or array-based comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH), is a type of genetic testing technology used to detect and analyze chromosomal abnormalities, such as gains or losses of genetic material.

Cytogenetic chips work by hybridizing small fragments of DNA from a patient's genome onto a glass slide or chip that contains known DNA probes that cover the entire human genome.
