The supply chain begins with upstream materials and components including optical-grade substrates (silicon, fused silica, sapphire), dielectric mirror coatings (SiO?, Ta?O?, TiO?), thin-film deposition chemicals, and MEMS materials. Midstream manufacturing involves wafer processing, lithography, etching, mirror coating via sputtering or ion-beam deposition, cavity spacing control, and precision alignment and bonding, often in cleanroom environments. Downstream, Fabry–Perot microresonators are integrated into tunable optical filters, sensors, lasers, and photonic modules, which are then supplied to end users in telecom, metrology, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, and advanced research markets.
