An Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is a precision device that integrates multiple sensors to measure an object's acceleration, angular velocity, and magnetic field information, thereby calculating its position, attitude, and motion state in three-dimensional space. Its core components include a three-axis accelerometer and a three-axis gyroscope, with some high-end products also integrating a magnetometer and a barometer. IMUs adopt a strapdown configuration (directly mounted on the carrier) and achieve miniaturization through micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology.
