BEIJING, April 19th, 2013 – GCiS China Strategic Research has published a report on the Chinese membranes market. The study finds that the market will grow at a compounded rate of around 16% per year, for the next few years. The biggest source of growth will come from the water production and supply industry; this is a direct result of the continued investments into water infrastructure by the Chinese government. The other key source of growth will be in the consumer based industries such as food & beverages. Although demand from industrial sectors will continue to grow, but it will be a much slower rate, due to the presence of overcapacity in some sectors.

Although the market is expected to grow at a fast rate, competition between suppliers is also expected to remain fierce within the market. Having the technological advantage and a better quality product, foreign suppliers remain dominant in this industry, with domestic suppliers competing mostly on price.
