Intrepid Potash, Inc. engages in the production and marketing of muriate of potash (potassium chloride or potash). The company markets langbeinite under the name of Trio.

The company owns five active potash production facilities—three in New Mexico and two in Utah. The company has a productive capacity to produce 910,000 tons of potash and 210,000 tons of langbeinite annually. The company owns two development assets in New Mexico—the HB mine, which is an idled potash mine, and the North Mine, which was operated as a traditional underground mine.

The company sells to three different markets for potash—the agricultural, industrial, and feed markets. The company is an exporting producer of langbeinite in the world. Both producing facilities are located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. PCS Sales (USA), Inc. (PCS Sales) markets the company’s langbeinite products outside North America and non-exclusively into Mexico.

Customers

The company has a diversified customer base of approximately 150 customers. It sells into the agricultural, industrial and feed markets. Within the agricultural market, the company supplies a customer base of distributors, retailers and cooperatives, who in turn supply farmers producing a range of crops.
