Compared with MV and LV XLPE, HV XLPE requires stricter control over particulate contamination, gels, scorch particles, metallic impurities, dielectric loss, partial discharge and long-term thermal aging. Upstream inputs include high-purity PE resin, peroxide, antioxidants, clean compounding systems, online inspection equipment and contamination-control packaging. Downstream applications include underground urban transmission, grid modernization, substation links, large industrial power supply, renewable-energy export lines and land HV AC cables.
