Solid sodium tert butoxide refers to sodium tert butoxide delivered in solid form such as powder, crystal, or particle. It is a strong alkaline organic alkoxide chemical, usually prepared by reacting metal sodium with tert butanol. It has strong hygroscopicity and is prone to rapid reaction with water or acid. During storage and use, it is necessary to strictly isolate water and carbon dioxide; It is mainly used as a strong base and condensation reagent in organic synthesis, for reaction steps such as deprotonation, etherification, condensation, cyclization, and metallization. It is widely used in pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates, fine chemicals, as well as some polymerization and special material synthesis processes. The advantages of its solid form are high effective content, better transportation volume efficiency, and ease of precise feeding according to equivalent, but it requires higher requirements for moisture-proof sealing, inert environment feeding, and hazardous chemical regulation management. In 2025, global Solid Sodium Tert-Butoxide production reached approximately 65.34 K MT, with an average global market price of around US$ 2,367 per MT.

The annual production capacity of solid sodium tert butoxide is 90K MT, with a gross profit margin of 15% -25%.

The upstream mainly comes from tert butanol and sodium sources, among which tert butanol usually comes from petrochemical chain isobutene related routes or supporting alcohol units. The sodium source is mainly metallic sodium and is affected by the supply and demand of electricity and basic chemical industry. The supporting facilities also include inert gas and drying system consumables, packaging lining and sealing materials, as well as hazardous chemical warehousing and transportation services.

Downstream is mainly used for strong base deporotonization and condensation cyclization in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs, alkali source and alcoholysis catalysis in the reaction system of pesticide intermediates and fine chemicals, organic synthesis processes such as dye essence, and some polymerization and special material synthesis processes. Most customers are pharmaceutical chemical plants, agricultural chemical enterprises, fine chemical plants, and reagents and distribution channels with hazardous chemical compliance capabilities.

In terms of cost structure, raw material costs usually account for 70% to 85% of the total cost, manufacturing expenses account for about 5% to 10%, quality inspection, labor and management account for about 3% to 7%, and environmental safety, compliance and loss disposal account for about 2% to 6%.
