Industrial preparation follows the "iodine-perchloric acid method" or "chlorine oxidation of sodium iodate + electrolysis" route: iodine (?99.5%) is first anodized to periodate by chlorine or PbO?, then periodic acid crystals are obtained through ion exchange or barium salt-sulfuric acid acidification, and finally prepared to the target concentration. Iodine accounts for 55-60% of raw material costs (the price of iodine fluctuates between 220,000 and 280,000 RMB per ton??, directly determining the cost), while perchloric acid, liquid chlorine, and steam energy consumption each account for 8-10%. The remainder is due to labor, waste treatment, and packaging.
