The production of exploited aquatic products in 2019 was estimated at 3,768.3 thousand tons, up 4.5% over the same period last year, of which fish gained 2,844.9 thousand tons, up 4.6%; shrimp reached 157.6 thousand tons, down 1%. Estimated aquaculture production in 2019 reached 4,432.5 thousand tons, up 6.5% over the same period last year, of which fish reached 3,080.4 thousand tons, up 5.8%; shrimp reached 877.2 thousand tons, up 8.4%.
Consumption: In 2019, the total domestic seafood consumption value is estimated at VND 25,107 billion. . It is forecasted that Vietnam's consumption of aquatic products per capita may reach 40kg/person/year next year, bringing the total consumption to 940,000 tons.
