The veterinary infectious diseases diagnostics market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.98% to reach US$5.369 billion by 2025. The prevalence of diseases such as colony collapse disorder, zoonotic diseases, rabies, canine distemper(which is also called Hardpad disease) among some other diseases is increasing due to the different types of bacteria, virus, and parasites present in the surroundings and the lack of practice of proper hygiene among the animals. This is leading to the spread of infections and causing health related problems to the pets and livestock owners. Thus, this is encouraging them to go for regular veterinary infectious disease diagnostics checkups in order to keep the animals' health in check and prevent them from contracting a disease, which is boosting the market growth.

Technology Launches by Major Market Players

The better, advanced and diverse varieties of veterinary infectious diseases diagnostics with enhanced features that are able to effectively aid in the proper and efficient diagnosis and detection of the diseases. These products are being launched and products being offered by existing and new players in different markets are estimated to lead to increased adoption and propel the market growth further over the forecast period.

Some of the examples of the Technology launches and Animal Types are as follows:
                                        • In August 2019, Zoetis one of the leading companies dealing in the provision of animal health services ad diagnostics announced that they have launched a new Technology in order to expand their Technology and services under their portfolio by releasing a Technology called the “Stablelab”. It is a handheld device, which is the type of point-of-care d diagnostic blood test, which is able to provide the veterinarians critical information related to the equine inflammation within a period of 10 minutes. The hand-held reader detects and quantifies the biomarker Serum Amyloid A (SAA), which is one of the major, acute-phase protein produced by the liver and it earl detection and diagnosis is able to help the veterinarians detect the infectious diseases sooner and respond to the inflammation caused in the caused by the infection earlier even before the symptoms start.
                                                                      • In July 2019, Zoetis, announced that they have signed an agreement with the Colorado State University (CSU) in order to facilitate the establishment at a research lab at CSU. In this lab, the livestock immune system and the target was going to be tested so as to target new immunotherapies, which paved the way for other new and better alternatives to the antibiotics used in the food-producing animals. In addition, this Incubator Research Lab is going to operate at the Research Innovation Center on the foothills of CSU Campus starting in early 2020. Therefore, due to getting access to the ore laboratories, highly skilled scientists will give Zoetis an ability to better understand the immune system of the livestock in order to generate new candidates for accelerating the research and development activities further.
    • Prosolit, one of the leading companies that are involved in the provision of diagnostic products and technologies for veterinary infectious disease testing offers a Technology called the “ELISA kit for serodiagnosis of Bovine Adenovirus3 “, which is a test designed for the diagnosis of this virus in the cattle. It is a type of an indirect test for blood sera, plasma and milk and helps in the faster, effective and more accurate testing and result declaration as it makes the use of reliable technology and provides a good number of testing kits.
Molecular Diagnostics are estimated to increase their market share over the forecast period as the demand for faster and effective results and the growing adoption among research centers and diagnostic laboratories.

Molecular Diagnostics are a type of diagnostic test that is basically referred to as the detection of genomic variant that facilitate the detection, diagnosis, sub-classification, prognosis. It also includes monitoring the responses to therapy. Molecular diagnostics also include laboratory medicine. Technology used in genomics and is increasingly essential for the provision of accurate diagnosis. The molecular diagnostics are estimated to increase their market share over the forecast period which is attributable to the fact that that the infectious diseases are getting more complex and are growing increasingly common among the livestock and companion animals, thus leading to a rising concern among the owners. This is encouraging them to opt for the better and effective tests that are able to deliver efficient results in a short period of time.

Livestock animals to increase their share over the forecast period

Livestock animals are one of the key drivers for sustainable development in agriculture apart from contributing to food security, nutrition and the alleviation of poverty and economic growth. Out of every five farm animals, about one animal is lost to the serious infectious diseases, which can lead to it affecting the individuals in the population globally as they depend on a daily supply of meat, poultry, milk and other dairy products, the quality of which can deteriorate due to disease. In addition, the cost of the disease the burden of diseases is increasing and can lead up to losses of around $80 billion.

The livestock animals are estimated to hold a notable share over the forecast period owing to the fact that there has been an increase in the number of farm animals that are suffering from different diseases as mostly the conditions they are held in are unhygienic and not clean. This results in the growth of bacteria and parasites in water bodies and water bowls they drink resulting in their feed getting ridden with parasites. This is driving the requirement of diagnostics services and veterinary services for these animals to prevent the risk of getting seriously ill by infections.
