Morocco infection control market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.48% over the forecast period 2019 to 2025. In Morocco, there has been a shift in the epidemiological profile, which has resulted in an increase in the burden of the disease that requires no contact to spread (Non-communicable diseases). These diseases cover around 40% of the total reasons for death, whereas the rest of the deaths are attributable to the injuries and communicable diseases, among other reasons. To counter this, Morocco has increased its efforts to reduce maternal and under-five mortality between the time period 1990 to 2015 with a reduction of 78.1% by effectively focusing on improving the standards of healthcare facilities. In addition, there have been efforts so as to improve the immunization and disease control programs intensively, which has resulted in the elimination of diseases such as malaria, trachoma, polio, and schistosomiasis. Morocco also reduced the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among the general population to around 0.1% as of 2017. Therefore, these factors show that the demand for proper infection control products and measures is to increase and the market is poised to grow over the forecast period.

However, in Morocco, there is a presence of poor living standards and poor living conditions, which is making the burden of infections higher. As a result, prevention and control is the only solution to mitigate this risk. In addition, the primary healthcare facilities and services that are available in Morocco are not up to the good quality and standards and are not available outside the major cities and towns.

This has urged the government organizations and other international bodies to take action to improve the facilities and discrepancies. For instance, the launch of the WHO Country Cooperation Strategic Agenda for the period 2017-2021, which is being funded and collaborated on by UNICEF, UNDAF and WHO, among other organizations consists of four major strategic priorities. These include Increasing the access to affordable and high-quality healthcare, Contributing to the SDG’s in order to reduce the burden of disease, which includes effective infection prevention and control technique, Reinforcing the health security for the public, and Supporting the development of a strong governance in the healthcare sector.

Healthcare sector shows growth prospects

The healthcare industry is expected to hold notable market share over the forecast period on account of increasing and effective efforts being taken by the government and other organizations in a bid to improve the state of healthcare facilities and provide effective infection control measures to minimize the spreads of infections and reduce the mortality rate. In addition, the country cooperation pan is also going to contribute to the market growth significantly over the forecast period.
