Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Accounting Report
There was a Swiss Merchant named as Henri Donan. In 1859, he saw the helpless injured soldiers as result of a war. Then he wrote a book about all that entitled Solvrino Memoirs. Then he formed “the International Committee for the aid of the Injured” in 1863. Eighteen philanthropists in Kuwait joined this and started it in Kuwait in the month of December 1965. Dr.Ibrahim Al Mehlhal, Abdulaziz Hamad Al Saqer, Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awadhi, Saad and Ali Al Nahed, Khaled Yousef Al Mutawa, Abdulrahman Salem Al Ateeqi, Suliman Khaled Al Mutawa, Abdulrazak Al Adwani, Abdulrahman Salem Al Ateeqi, Abdulaziz Mohamed Al Shaya were few of the founding members.
Then in 1949, the Kuwaiti Government signed four agreements of Geneva which facilitated the joining of KRCS with the International Association of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. In 1991, it was named as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It worked to serve the field of philanthropy. It worked to fulfil the needs of needy people such as cloth, drink, food, housing etc. It helped people in other countries also who became victims of natural hazards such as floods, earthquakes, armed conflicts and humanitarian crises (Krcs.org, 2017).
