In May 2019, Israel-based agricultural tech company Roots Sustainable Agricultural Technologies Ltd increased tomato plant yield in Spain using its root zone temperature optimization (RZTO) heating systems.

In January 2019, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Agricultural Credit Cooperative of Turkey take an initiative on high-tech greenhouses of constructing 2 thousand hectares of greenhouses in 2019 with the aim to prevent high prices in fruits and vegetables and to increase productivity throughout the year.
