Vehicle emission sensor is an electronic device that is placed in the exhaust pipe is used to analyze and calculate the number of emissions being produced by a car or in other words emission sensor measures the exhaust gas concentration. The emission sensor is of two types O2 sensor and NOx sensor, The O2 sensor is used to determine the concentration of 02 in the exhaust gases as compared to the O2 present in the atmosphere whereas the NOx sensor is used to determine the amount of gases dissolved in the exhaust.

For example, a company Faurecia which is headquartered in France has partnered up with DHL and will equip a fleet of commercial vehicles with sensors to monitor the levels of NOx and fine particulates using a new technology that is being developed by Faurecia. In addition to real-time emissions monitoring, Faurecia will also provide a digital dashboard giving live information about emissions from vehicles.
