In 2015, Japan deployed autonomous unmanned submersibles for resource exploration, remote-controlled unmanned submersibles and other efficient marine operation systems, as well as research and development of collaborative operations of multiple autonomous unmanned submersibles, relying on the 'Next Generation Robot Key Technology Key Science and Technology Plan' project. In 2015, Lloyd's Register and others released the 'Global Marine Technology Trends 2030' report, believing that in the future, a series of underwater, surface and air equipment with autonomous capabilities can cooperate to carry out actions and perform tasks, providing new means for exploration, monitoring and interaction with the ocean space.
