Dry storage container is a technology for treating high-level hazardous waste, such as spent nuclear fuel, which has been stored in spent fuel tank for at least one year, sometimes up to ten years. Generally, dry storage containers are made of concrete and metal pipes, which are either welded or locked. Inside, the fuel rods are surrounded by inert gas. The water tank is provided with sealing protection. The cylinder is covered with additional steel, concrete or other materials to provide radiation shielding.
