During operation, the hopper, material, and feeder are continuously weighed together. As the material is discharged, the actual loss-in-weight rate is measured and compared with the required loss-in-weight rate (set value). The loss-in-weight feeder automatically corrects any deviation from the set point by adjusting the feeder's speed, ensuring uniform and accurate continuous feeding of the material. This equipment is widely used in powder dosing processes for materials such as plastic pellets, powders, calcium carbonate, talc, resin film particles, flour, and starch. Depending on the material's flowability, a single-screw loss-in-weight feeder is recommended for materials with good flowability, while a twin-screw loss-in-weight feeder is recommended for materials with poor flowability.
