The Oil-free Vicat Tester is an instrument for measuring the Vicat softening point of cement, concrete and other construction materials. It is a variant of the Vicat hardness test. The Vicat softening point test is one of the common methods for evaluating the softening and flow properties of materials such as cement and concrete at high temperatures. The traditional Vicat test uses oil as the measurement medium, but there may be environmental and health and safety issues in using oil. Oil-free Vicat testers use an alternative oil-free medium, usually water or other suitable liquid. Its working principle is to insert a Vicat Needle into the sample, and then apply a load at a predetermined speed. By observing the deformation of the sample surface, determine the time when the Vicat needle passes through the sample or the specific deformation point, that is, the softening point. Oil-free Vicat testers can provide similar results to traditional oil-based tests, while avoiding potential environmental and health impacts. Oil-free Vicat tester is widely used in construction materials, material research and quality control and other fields. It helps engineers and researchers evaluate the softening properties and flow properties of materials to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
