Laser scanning photoacoustic microscope is a high-resolution biomedical imaging technology that combines the principles of laser scanning imaging and photoacoustic microscope. Working principle: LSPAM uses a laser beam to irradiate biological samples. When a laser beam irradiates the surface or interior of the sample, the excited tissue will absorb light energy and generate small thermal expansion, resulting in instantaneous temperature and pressure changes. These transient temperature and pressure changes will cause the Photoacoustic effect and generate photoacoustic signals. After the photoacoustic signal is generated, it is detected and recorded through an ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensors can detect the light and sound waves inside the sample and convert them into electrical signals. Based on the received photoacoustic signal, the system can reconstruct the structure and features of the sample, forming a high-resolution image. Advantages: Laser scanning photoacoustic microscopy has many advantages, making it an important tool in the field of biomedical imaging. High resolution: LSPAM can achieve higher resolution than traditional optical microscopes and perform high-definition imaging of small structures. Deep imaging: because the photoacoustic signal has a good Penetration depth, LSPAM can image the structure buried deep in the sample, realizing non-invasive deep imaging. Non invasive: LSPAM uses non-contact imaging technology to avoid damage to biological samples and is suitable for in vivo imaging and dynamic observation. Multimodal imaging: LSPAM can be combined with other imaging technologies (such as optical microscopy, ultrasound imaging, etc.) to provide more comprehensive information. Application: Laser scanning photoacoustic microscopy has a wide range of applications in biomedical research, including but not limited to: cell and tissue imaging: used to study the structure and function of cells, including intracellular organs and cell metabolism. Vascular imaging: achieving high-resolution imaging of blood vessels for studying blood flow and vascular lesions. Tumor research: used to observe the morphology and blood supply characteristics of tumors, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Neuroscience research: used to study the structure and function of neurons and understand the activity mechanisms of the nervous system.
