Organic semiconductor materials absorb photons and generate excitons. Excitons generate rapid charge transfer at the donor acceptor interface. After electrons are injected into the acceptor materials, holes and electrons are effectively separated. The separated electrons and holes are transferred to the two electrodes respectively under the action of the built-in electric field, thus forming photocurrent.
